My work focuses on the weaving, unraveling, and the curation of baskets and interior spaces. I'm interested in creating iterations, whether abstractly or realistically, through oil painting, mixed media, and video - to explore self-portraiture and reflections of memory. Loose, repetitive line work and gridded compositions are an abstract approach to woven baskets and a nod to translating the labor of West Indian craft. Interior spaces, drawn and painted from life and references, allow me to curate idealized rooms with home decor, fleeting and fully materialized, to express one's individuality and shared memories that span across geographic waters.
