Nohra Haime Gallery: Artist Plates Reception
Board Member Nohra Haime held a reception to benefit Free Arts NYC at her gallery located at 41 East 57th Street. The show, Artist Plates, featured intricate plates designed by artists such as Judy Chicago, Keith Haring, Ed Ruscha, and Andy Warhol. Artist Plates will be on display until January 5th, 2008 at the Nohra Haime Gallery
Polcei Store Opening
Poleci celebrated the opening of their new flagship store at 32 Gansevort Street. The event was hosted by Janice Levin-Krok, Co-Founder and Creative Director, with co-hosts Marisa Noel Brown, Melanie Charlton Fascitelli, Amanda Ross, Amanda Tisch and Lucy Sykes Rellie. Guests sipped champagne while enjoying the contemporary designer clothing store. The celebration was held in support of Free Arts NYC.
Catalog for Giving’s 12th Annual Urban Heroes Awards Benefit
As one of 10 organizations selected to be a part of the The Catalog for Giving Free Arts NYC participated in the 12th Annual Urban Heroes Benefit at Chelsea Piers. The evening featured silent and live auctions, dinner, cocktails and inspirational speeches by the young Urban Heroes. Free Arts honored PACT Program participant, Devon Michael Wayne as our Urban Hero.
An Evening at Pink Elephant
Free Arts Board Members Jacques Roizen and Daniel Ehrmann hosted their 3rd annual fundraiser this year at Pink Elephant nightclub with supporters Erica Roizen, Stéphane Siboni and Matt Turck. Delicious hors d’oeuvres were provided by Brenton Catering. The cocktail party was attended by over 200 guests and raised over $55,000 for Free Arts NYC! Click to view photos.
Young Benefactor Fall Benefit
The 2nd Annual Young Benefactor Fall Benefit was a great success! The event was hosted by Links of London as part of their watch collection launch, in partnership with InStyle Magazine and Tracy Paul & Company at the Xchange. Committee members included Ferebee Bishop, Olivia Chantecaille, Celia Chen, Melissa Skoog, and Emma Snowdon-Jones, among other notable names. The highlight of the evening was a special performance by Nuttin’ But Stringz, a duo of brothers who combine Classical music, Jazz, R & B, and Hip Hop. Guests enjoyed cocktails by William Grant & Sons, sparkling wine by Ballatore, delectable hors d’ oeuvres by Mary Giuliani and also the amazing view of the city and Hudson River from the Xchange’s roof deck. Bonpoint Bleeker Street Store Opening
Cristina Greeven Cuomo, Emilia Fanjul Pfeifler, Free Arts Board Member Mary Alice Stephenson and Richard Alibert, Bonpoint CEO held an event celebrating the opening of the new Bonpoint store in the West Village. With both champagne and juiceboxes on ice, fashionable mothers and children enjoyed French hors d’oeuvres and pastries while they shopped. 10% of proceeds went to benefit Free Arts NYC (through September 29th). Jesse Malin Benefit Concert
John Varvatos and SPIN magazine presented Jesse Malin for Free Arts NYC’s first benefit concert. The event was held at the recently opened Highline Ballroom with special guest performances by Radio 4 and DJ Josh Madden. Click to view photos.
8th Annual Art Auction Benefit
The 8th Annual Art Auction Benefit, Portraits & Polaroids, sponsored by Vanity Fair and Dior was held at Milk Gallery in Chelsea. Along with Free Arts board members and benefit chairs Amy Sacco and Mary Alice Stephenson, hundreds of well-heeled guests came out to bid on art in the live and silent auctions. Board member and auctioneer Simon de Pury had guest in a bidding frenzy, competing over works by Chuck Close, Barbara Kruger and Tom Friedman. Honorary chair Liv Tyler was among many to show her support and bid to sponsor a Free Arts program. Other celebrity supporters included Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, Selita Ebanks and Donna Karan. Dior and Vanity Fair Preview Party
In anticipation of our 8th Annual Art Auction Benefit, event co-sponsors Dior and Vanity Fair held a preview party at Dior’s 57th Street store. Guests enjoyed champagne, hors d’oeuvres and shopping while getting a close up look at some of the live auction art to be sold at the benefit. A percentage of proceeds from the evening’s sales were donated to Free Arts.
Miguelina Store Opening
Lifestyle designer Miguelina Gambaccini opened the doors of her new West Village boutique at an event benefiting Free Arts NYC, and donated 10% of the proceeds from the first week’s sales. The event was co-hosted by Free Arts Board member Amy Sacco, along with Astrid Munoz and Emilia Fanjul Pfeifler.
Sari Gueron and Glamour Collaboration
Designer Sari Gueron created a one of a kind Splendid T-Shirt exclusively for Glamour magazine to help support Free Arts NYC. 30% of the sales from each shirt, which were available on www.shopbop.com, went directly to Free Arts NYC.
Lutz & Patmos and Liv Tyler Collaboration
Free Arts NYC ambassador Liv Tyler served as a guest designer for luxury cashmere sweater makers Lutz & Patmos. Liv created a gorgeous cashmere cape cardigan and stipulated that a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the sweaters go to Free Arts NYC.
