Young Benefactors

Free Arts NYC’s Young Benefactor Committee is a group of young, New York professionals from the art, fashion, entertainment and finance communities who support the mission of Free Arts NYC and are dedicated to promoting the cause through fundraising events. In the past the Young Benefactor Committee has hosted cocktail parties at Home, Gypsy Tea, Suede and Suite 16. Previous sponsors include Armani Exchange, Grey Goose, Evian, Anheuser-Busch and JetBlue. Last year’s event achieved a new level of success; with fashion brand Ports 1961 as the event sponsor. This fall the Young Benefactor Committee is excited to host the event with sponsors Links of London & InStyle Magazine. See below for details!

2006 Young Benefactor Summer Benefit

The 2006 Free Arts NYC Young Benefactor Event, sponsored by Ports 1961 was a huge success and raised over $40,000 for our art mentoring programs. Co-chaired by Celia Chen, Tia Cibani and Melissa Skoog, this Latin-night themed event featured Grey Goose cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, raffles of luxurious items, and the opportunity to purchase a limited edition beach towel designed by Vanity Fair’s art director Michael Roberts. Ports 1961’s showroom was transformed into an authentic tango club featuring an inspiring installation of Free Arts children’s artwork. The highlight of the evening was a performance by Pierre Dulaine’s young ballroom dancing troop. Some guests danced the night away, while others enjoyed the lovely view on the terrace. For more information or to purchase a Michael Roberts limited-edition beach towel, contact Amanda Salvaggio, amanda@freeartsnyc.org or 212.974.9092. Click to view photos.
